Andhra Pradesh - Time to move on and start building

Ever since the CWC and the NDA agreed to the demerger of the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the Seemandhra region has been rocked by agitations and protests, demanding the decision be taken back. These agitations and protests are because they are apprehensive the demerger will mean loss of jobs and lesser opportunities for growth. The bogey of the job loss and opportunity loss has been raised and nurtured by the Seemandhra businessmen politicians who have profiteered by misusing the Government machinery for the last few decades and see a decline in their profiteering ways in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The demerger is a Win Win for both the Seemandhra and the Telangana People. Telangana wadi have got their wish for a separate state fulfilled and now have to bear the onerous task of proving to the world that they can build a state on par with Dubai and Singapore.

The demerger has the potential to provide tremendous opportunity for growth and development in Andhra Pradesh.  The promise of the Central Government to help the region build its Capital city, will provide massive capital inflows into the region which will create a rapid cycle of spiral development, and has the potential to generate lakhs of jobs in Infrastructure, Retail, Housing, education, utility, healthcare etc.

As for the Government servants who are up in arms against the demerger, they need to seize this opportunity for rapid career advancement. Where today a Government employee in has to wait for anywhere between 5 to 7 years for a promotion, in the new state of Andhra Pradesh there will be vacancies at all levels that will need to be filled in immediately and employees across levels can look forward to a faster promotions. And if the price to be paid for career advancement and the prospect of retiring at a grade higher than one would retire at in the existing setup, is the discomfort of relocating, then it is a very small one indeed. Today lakhs of people leave their country and home in search of greener pastures, the prospect of a promotion on a platter is a boon that is not be passed over.

The demerger of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh is a win win for all the investors, the government employees, the youth looking at starting their careers, and for the fledgling politicians who can now look at a larger role in public life. The only ones who will lose are the businessmen politicians who have been exploiting their political clout for profiteering.

The Seemandhra Government employees need to see where their interests are, agitations and pen down strikes will serve no purpose. It is time now for them to take this opportunity and start planning their next career move.  Look at the situation in the right perspective and not fight these businessmen turned politician’s battles. Grab what is being given to you on a platter and march forth to a great future and let these businessmen fight their own wars.
