Read my lips, Justice for all promises Chidambaram

The Home Minister, P. Chidambaram, in his statement after accepting the Sri Krishna Commission Report on December 30, 20101 on the future of Telangana, stated the Central Government will work towards arriving at a solution that will bring satisfaction, happiness and prosperity to all. Reading between the lines, the Home Minster has in principle accepted the demand for Telangana. For it is a fact that only in their own state will the 4.5 crore people of Telangana be satisfied, happy and hope for prosperity. But, hold your breath and wait before distributing the sweets. Chidambaram has also used the word all, and we know all includes the powerful Seemandhra lobby which has been at the fore front of opposing the formation of Telangana State. It justly fears the declaration of Telangana with Hyderabad as the Capital, will bring to light the systematic pillage and plunder of the region. And will try its level best to maintain the status quo.

We will have to wait and see what maneuvers the Central Government will try to pull off, to keep everyone satisfied and happy, the people of Telangana and the Seemandhra lobby of moneybags. There are several options the Government can come up with to maintain the status quo. Option one, declare Telangana as a back region and have a separate ministry headed by a Dy. Chief Minister from Telangana to oversee its development. And to appease the demand for justice and fair representation announce reservation for Telangana people in the Government sector and education institutions. And allot a dole for the development of the region. Though this will satisfy the Seemandhra lobby it will have no takers in Telangana.

The Second option, the Government may propose if forced to, will be to create Telangana state and declare Hyderabad as the Jt. Capital or Union Territory. And to make the deal palatable for the people of the erst while Hyderabad state now being called Telangana, it may also provide a balm in the form of a grant to develop Warangal as the Capital of Telangana. This will still be acceptable to the Seemandhra lobby as it is the soul of Telangana, Hyderabad the lobby is after. And to sweeten the pain of amputation, the opponents to this will be plied with the honey provided by the Seemandhra moneybags.

Option three, which the Government may favour, will be to place in the public domain the findings of the Sri Krishna Commission and ask for the comments and suggestions of all concerned parties including the NRI associations and give them a timeframe of ninety days to send in their suggestions and comments. After which the Government may ask for a further six months time to study the commissions report and collate the suggestion and comments of the people. It will set up another committee comprised of the eight political parties to combine the Sri Krishna reports findings with the suggestions elicited from the people, and prepare a plan of action. A perfect strategy to keep the issue open, satisfy all parties the Seemandhra lobby for maintaining the status quo, the Telangana people for setting in process the formation of the state. And if in the meantime the people of Telangana weary of fighting for their basic human rights alls well. A perfect way to silence the voice of 4.5 crore Indians.

This is what we the people of Telangana have to prevent. We have seen what happened exactly a year before on January 5, 2010 at the all party meet called by Chidambaram, to discuss the issue to statehood for Telangana. The central Government effectively silenced the political class, by plying it with the moolah generously provided by the Seemandhra money bags. This was confirmed by quiet a few congress leaders and the leader of MIM in private. No, matter what takes place behind the closed doors on January 6, 2011.The future of Telangana and Hyderabad will have to decided by us, the citizens of India and the sons and daughters of Telangana. Telangana is Hyderabad and Hyderabad is Telangana and it cannot be delayed any longer.

Telangana get ready for the first Battle for Self Determination

We have been saying for sometime now “The time for discussions, committees and commissions is over, what we need now is direct action”. So sons and daughters of Telangana get ready for the first of the many battles we will have to wage and win if our long cherished desire for self respect and self determination is to be achieved. The days of presentations and representations to sundry committees and commissions is over, for long we have relied on them to aid us in enjoying the basic of basic human rights, the right to livelihood, the right to water, the right to education, we have to start fighting for this today, tomorrow and everyday till Telangana is formed.
The first battle of Telangana has to be fought for our rightful share in the portals of higher learning. And what better place to fire our first salvo than the admission to PG courses in our Universities. Entrance examinations for 52 post-graduate courses offered by the Osmania University in Hyderabad, Telangana University in Nizamabad, Mahatma Gandhi University in Nalgonda and Palamuru University in Mahabunagar are scheduled to be held from June 14 to June 24 for nearly 15,000 seats across all disciplines. And we need to see that 80% of these seats are awarded to Telangana students.
For the last many years, the lion’s share of these seats has been allotted to students from Seemandhra region under the garb of open competitive examinations. Needless to say students from these regions are able to get better grades because they come from agriculturally affluent families, have had access to better educational facilities. While the students from Telangana, who for the most part are the first generation in their social strata to try to enter the Universities. It is a sociological truth that the differences in the social status read affluence has a direct impact on educational excellence. So going by this logic, even if competitive examinations are conducted for these seats in Telangana, the system is skewed in favor of these settlers, and will only create avenues for higher learning and earning for them while systematically denying our youth avenues for advancement. The disparity in the grades is so high that even for seats in the reserved categories, students from Seemandhra score above their Telangana counterparts.
We need to be aware of these dynamics and ensure the future generations of Telangana are not discriminated by the system, in the guise of competition. We need to ensure that admissions to these Telangana Universities are conducted as they would be in our separate state, and the students from Telangana are awarded 80% of the seats. This practice is prevalent in all states where the sons of the soil get a majority share of the seats and the remaining are awarded to students from other states. There is no earthly reason why Telangana cannot have the same system.
We will go the right way on this, present a petition to the Director, Directorate of Admissions, and the Chancellor and Vice Chancellor of these and other Universities and Professional institutes in Telangana. However, at the ground level it has to be enforced by constant and unrelenting vigilance. Our professors and administrative staff in these institutes need to aware of and highlight to us Telangana people, if our students are denied seats because they have been gifted to the Seemandhra sons and daughters. And to take it back from them, using force if we have to. For long we have waited with open palms for our basic rights, we now need to be prepared to take it by force if we are pushed.
It is only when these Seemandhra’s realize that Telangana is no longer the land of I came, I saw and I conquered, which you can plunder at will. It is only when we evolve from being passive pawns to a highly awakened and defiant self that does shy from protecting its resources whether it is academic, employment, political and natural that Telangana will become a reality.

Telangana Inter student deliberately failed by Seemandhra evaluator

First they took our jobs, then they took our lands, then they took our seats in institutes of higher learning, then they took away our waters making our lands barren, and finally having brought us to the brink of human extinction they have the malice to kill even hope for a better future from the lives of our innocent children.
Not content with driving our youth to suicide in desperation and shooting rubber pellets and water canons, at us like rabid animals the Seemandhra’s guillotine has trained its sight on snuffing out the future of our just out of school students. A startling though not surprising fact was brought to light the other day, when an intermediate 2nd year student from Warangal, who was awarded a mighty zero in economics scored a distinguished 75. marks out of 100 in the same subject when he applied for revaluation of the answer sheet. And guess who the evaluator was, a lecturer from a private college in Kadapa. Strange is the explanation given by the lecturer for awarding zero marks, he says he did so “as he could not understand the answers written in English”. We knew this would happen but were hoping against hope that these malevolent forces would not stoop as low as this.
The Telangana lobby had alerted both the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, on the evaluators from Seemandhra unleashing their hatred for Telangana and deliberately failing our students. But as always our pleas went unheeded, it is indeed God’s benevolence, that this lad had the courage and self confidence to approach the Board of Intermediate Education for reevaluation, he could have fallen prey to dejection as scores of other students do. This is just one instance that has come to light, there may be thousands of cases like this, where students from Telangana have been deliberately failed in retaliation to our struggle for a separate state.
Killing the future of a student even before it takes off, is a heinous crime comparable to rape, the damage done to the future prospects of the student, the loss of morale and confidence in self can never be repaired. These butchers of our children’s future are worse then Ajmal Kasab the Pakistani terrorist who carried out the 26/11 attack in Mumbai. He has only taken lives, while these psychological terrorists have tried to maim and kill hope of our future generation, the worse of worst crimes.
If we the people of Telangana, are to have faith in the system then the only solution is to have the answer papers of all SSC and Intermediate students from Telangana reevaluated by an independent authority better still have them corrected by lecturers from other states. This may be involve costs and delay the admission to colleges, so what! These are of no consequence where the future of even one student unjustly failed is concerned.
It is up to the Government and the Education Department to see to it that justice is done to our students and they are not made to suffer because we demand our right to self determination and self respect.

The Last and Final Battle for Telangana has to be fought by its Children

The last and final battle for Telangana has to be fought by its sons and daughters, this is clear from the outcome of the last few days parleys and maneuvers of the political parties in the center and the state. The Congress’s response to the Telangana crisis last week, was characteristic of its instinct for self preservation, leaving aside the issue of unprovoked firing it went ahead with fortifying its power base. Fearing a division within its ranks from YSR loyalists, in the remote event of the party taking any punitive action against Jagan for fomenting trouble in Telangana, it went ahead and forged ties with Chiranjeevi’s Praja Rajyam. Ostensibly the meeting between Chiranjeevi and the Congress High Command was to avoid any contest for the Rajya Sabha seats for which the biennial elections are due. The piece de resistance on the menu of these discussions, which even a 10 year old will tell you was a probable alliance between the two.
It is time we realized that for the congress, retaining power is the first and last priority. Even if the High Command is in favor of a separate state, the advice of the Seemandhra funded coterie of advisors will prevail. It is a tragedy that none of the Telangana protogonists in the Congress have the confidence of the High Command or the influence in the Congress politburo to have their voice heard. This was evidenced by the silent snub they received from the Congress headquarters when their pleas to stop Jagan’s mrityu yatra went unheeded. Sadly, none of these congress politicians have the nerve to leave the party and their hollow positions in the party and state ministries and come and stand by our side. The most they can do is make ineffectual and vain visits to Delhi and cool their heels while waiting for Madam and her coterie to meet and listen to them.
And what of the self styled leader of Telangana, KCR he seems to have met his target for the year and is now strategizing for the coming one. There is a loud silence emanating from the TRS offices, Jayashankar is hardly to be seen and KCR is busy mending bridges with his Andhra counterparts in Vijaywada. Surprisingly, the TRS has shown monumental lethargy in driving the Telangana struggle, since KCR’s meeting with Chidambram at the All Party meet in Delhi on January 12, 2010. We can only surmise that the fire and false bravado of the TRS leader has been doused by Chidambaram’s persuasion and pots of honey.
What of the BJP, TDP and MIM. BJP and TDP are joined at the hip, and there is a history of BJP openly opposing Telangana state. We have yet to hear any of their National leaders comment on the issue, except for Swaraj’s plea to the students not to commit suicide. The MIM is the joker in the pack, and will bend wherever the Owaisi sons see the bread is buttered.
This leaves the future of Telangana, where it has always been in the hands of its sons and daughers who have neither the money of the Seemandhra lobby nor the positions of power but what we have is the will and determination of 3.5 crore Indians. For the last 50 years we have waited for the political class to show us the way and they have all betrayed us for petty profilts. Now, the time has come for direct and individual action on all fronts, starting with admission to our colleges, reclaiming our right to livelihood and retrieving the lands of our ancestors that have been granted left right and center by successive Seemandhra Governments to their cohorts in the land mafia. This is not easy and will call for sacrifices, but we have to decide between falling prey to the bullets of Konda Sureka and the likes of her or immolating ourselves in desperation like Yadiah and others, or we pledge to take our fight to the doorsteps of the Seemandhras. If we decide on the later there are two courses of action open to us, either we take the easy way and submit petitions and presentations to one committee after another or we take the Mahatma’s road paved with bullets and lathis but which will ultimately lead to ultimate victory. The choice is ours, let God give us the courage to do all that is necessary to liberate Telangana.

Girish Kumar in Denial Mode Refuses to Acknowledge Murder of Praful Raju

Girish Kumar, the DGP of Andhra has gone on record denying the death of Praful Raju, who was shot through the head by the henchmen of Konda Sureka. This is one of the many instances of Girish Kumar’s white lies, he has been wont to utter where Telangana is concerned. Earlier in the year he made a ridiculous statement on the Maoists having advantage in Telangana, when he stated, “It would be difficult for police to contain Maoist activities in relatively smaller states”. Whereas Telangana with an area of 114,800 acres will be the 13th largest state in India by area and the 12th largest state demographically with a population of 3.5 crores.
And today, when the entire media reports the death of Praful Raju, at the hands of Konda Surekha’s musclemen, he has the audacity to refute it as a rumor. And what of the traitors of Telangana the murderous trio of Konda Surekha, her husband Konda Murali and Malothu Kavitha, who abetted the murder of Praful and led the carnage at Mahabubabad. They have been let off scot free along with their leader, the carrier of death Jaganmohan Reddy. The only response from the State Government and the Center has come from Pranab Mukerjee, the Finance Minister, when he stated, “The Congress High Command will take appropriate decision against Kapada MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy for violating party suggestion by taking the Odarpu yatra in Warangal”. Mark the words, the honorable Minister does not say ‘against the wishes of the High Command’ but ‘violating party suggestion’ which translates to Sonia never having asked Jagan to call off his Mrityu Yatra in Telangana. One word from her and he would have run 100 mph in reverse gear. It is akin to giving consent by silence. And the loss of a budding human life has no meaning for Mr.Mukherjee, the crime Jagan is guilty of is violating party suggestion.
Konda Surekha had already felt the ire and angst of the people of Telangana, when she went around paying blood money amounting to a grand sum of Rs. 25,000 to the families of Telangana martyrs, as a peace balm to allow this mrityu yatra to pass off successfully. Needless, to say She was humiliated and her offer thrown in her face when, Jayamma, mother of deceased Raj Kumar of Narasampet town refused to take money stating that her son did not die for money. And again at Duggondi village, when the parents of Prithviraj locked their house leaving a note urging Ms. Surekha not to value the sacrifice in terms of money. Not having learnt from this, she had the effrontery to lead the welcome committee for Jagan, the carrier of death of Telangana people.
The events of the last two days have shown us, that we the people of Telangana can expect no justice leave alone humane consideration in this Government of the Seemandhra lobby and Government for the Seemandhra lobby. It is a sad day for the nation, when we the people of Telangana have to go to the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) each and every time we want to claim our basic human rights, whether it is the right to a decent funeral or the right to speech and liberty. Now we will also need to go the SHRC to have the murder of our sons at the hands of these Seemandhra’s acknowledged. It is time for us to call off our self imposed restraint and respond to the war cry raised by Jagan and his henchmen.

Praful Raju Falls Prey to Jagan’s Mrityu Yatra

Once again, bullets rained down on hapless Telangana youth killing one and seriously injuring several others as they protested in peace against the so called consolation (Odarpu) yatra of YSR’s Son, Jaganmohan Reddy in Warangal. For us the people of Telangana it is not Odarpu Yarta, but a Mrityu Yatra, that has taken away the life of our son. Praful Raju, a tender 20 year old with the future before him was shot through the head by the gunmen of former Congress Minister Konda Surekha. As if this was not enough the police force present at the place, instead of confesticating and arresting the gunman fired rubber pellets at the protestors even as the gunmen of the others congress leaders went on a firing spree with their pistols.

The Telangana people have been requesting the State Government and the Leadership at the Center to stop this Mrityu Yatra of Jaganmohan’s. And it has as usual been deaf to our pleas and protests. Both the Government at the Center and the State are morally culpable for the murder of Praful. The shot may have been fired by the gunman but it is you Madam Sonia and you Mr.Chidambaram, and you Mr. Rosiah and you Mr. ESL, who have forced the trigger by allowing this yatra of death to go ahead inspite of indications from all sources that it may lead to this.

Soniaji, a word from you to Jaganmohan and Praful would be alive now. We have been crying ourselves hoarse, asking you and your Government to stop this humiliation of our people and our aspirations. What was Jagan coming to console us for, the 50 years of suppression and oppression we have suffered at the hands of his ilk. Our people had met with and explained our objection and reasoning for stopping Jagan’s Mrityu Yatra, to Mr. Ahmed Patel, your Secretary did he not inform you of this.

It is a shame that the same administration which prevented the funeral processions of Telangana martyrs watched mutely as Jaganmohan, the harbringer of Death and mayhem went ahead with his Mrityu Yatra to sprinkle salt on the festering sores of Telangana.

Mr.Chidambaram, did not your intelligence agencies apprise you of the volatile situation in Telangana, or were you taken in by the whisperings of the Seemandhra money bags on the demand for Telangana having tapered down. We have voluntarily reined in our movement so that the Sri Krishna Committee can complete its report, knowing full well that it is a bogus committee and has been set up just to buy time foryou and your seemandhra moneybags.

ESL, the Governor of Andhra, we have no angst or complaint against you. You have once again demonstrated your loyalty to the Seemandhra lobby which has placed you in the Rajbhawan, by seeing nothing untoward, by hearing no intelligence reports on the ground situation and saying nothing to the State Machinery on stopping this Mrityu Yatra. You have shown splendid inaction in responding to this crisis in Telangana which is at odds with your overly dominant involvement in suppressing the voice of Telangana, earlier in the year.

Mr. Rosiah, you have failed the people of Telangana once again. Why was Jagan the carrier of Death not stopped in Hyderabad itself? Why did you and your administration wait till one of our sons was murdered in cold blood before taking any action?

The only logical explanation for allowing this Mrityu Yatra to proceed so far was that it was a Nazi experiment to test if the passion of the Telangana people for their state has cooled down. If so, I hope the results have demonstrated to one and all the powers at the Center and the Seemandhra lobby that this time round, there is just one outcome the state of Telangana with Hyderabad as its capital and its 10 districts intact.

State Administration Sowing the Seeds of Extremism in Hyderabad State

The Andhra Government under the directions of the Raj Bhawan in Hyderabad, appears to be hell bent on sowing the seeds for the next generation of extremist leaders in the country. The brutality unleashed by the Andhra Administration, to crush the democratic demand for the state of Telangana nee Hyderabad, was either the response of a frightened lobby to protect its ill gotten wealth or a well planned strategy to push the youth of Hyderabad into the arms of the extremists. The words and actions of the State and the Leadership at the center point to the latter, as it will then justify the Government’s lie of naxal and maoist influence in the demand for a separate state.

Stories of the police brutality are slowly emerging from the student community in Osmania University, the nerve center of the Telangana agitation. Speaking to a panel of jury members conducting a public hearing into police violence in Osmania University, students narrated the trauma of being at the receiving end of the Seemandhra sponsored police atrocities. One of the victims a girl pursuing her masters described she and her group of her friends all girls were stoned by the security forces within the University campus, and how the stoning continued even after they displayed their identity cards. Another girl student, recounted the horror of being molested and mercilessly lathicharged when she along with her friends went to the aid of their fellow students in other hostels who were being manhandled by the police. The students were first mercilessly beaten and then arrested under false cases, all for exercising their democratic right, in asking for self determination and self expression.

If the girl students were molested and lathi charged, the story of the treatment meted out to the boy’s is hair raising, students who were active in the movement were identified and individually targeted in their home towns and villages. One student recalled how he was forcibly pulled out of a barber shop and arrested. While another recounted, how he was accosted by a dozen policemen on bikes and produced before a magistrate in the early hours of the morning. The most horrendous case is that of Andalamma, her son was pulverized by 20 policemen who stormed into their house in the wee hours, he is still in hospital after two months!

Each and every instance of police atrocity has laid bare the Andhra Government’s heinous intention to destroy the spirit of an entire generation, most of whom are first generation learners in their family, and had entered the portals of the University, with the ideal of changing the system and their lives. Contrast this with the state’s response to the week long communal flare-up in the twin cities last month, a handful of arrests that too of minor minions. The same police force which shot rubber bullets at hapless students watched as mute spectators while the miscreants went on a rampage burning and pillaging. AK Khan, the DG of police, who led the ruthless carnage against the hapless students, was photographed playing cricket in front of the Charminar, just to show all was peaceful, while the city was erupting in flames. It is a blackday for the Nation, when democratic protests have to face the wrath and carnage of its might while anti social elements flourish and prosper under the state’s patronage.

The Government, seems to be hell bent on fulfilling its prophesy of Naxal and Maoist infiltration on the Telangana struggle, only difference is they by their actions are driving the student community into the arms of the extremists. Chidambaram and the Seemandhra protégé Narasimhan, are guilty of attempting to destroy the psychological fiber of an entire generation of Hyderabad, by their heinous acts against the students and the people of Hyderabad, who are demanding their fundamental right to self determination as guaranteed by the constitution of India. It is high time the Government at the center realized that by dancing to the tunes of the Seemandhra contractor and land mafia, it is creating future Dantewada’s in Hyderabad.
The people of Hyderabad are peace loving and we will wrest our state from the clutches of the Seemandhra’s in peace and in line with the provisions of the Indian Constitution and any attempts to detract us from this path should be labeled anti national and dealt with accordingly.

Pathetic State of Hospitals in Hyderabad

The Andhra Government has released an additional amount of Rs. 55 crore for the completion of the 450-bed Visakha Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS) inVisakhapatnam, this is in addition to the Rs.120 crore that has already been spent in the construction of the super speciality hospital. This hospital with the latest in medicare will supplement the medical services provided by the King George Hospital. The foundation of VIMS was laid down in January 2007 and in less than three years this super speciality hospital is nearing completion. Contrast this with the state of Medical Health in Hyderabad state, in the last 50 years no Government hospital has been established in Hyderabad, all Government hospitals in Hyderabad districts were set up prior to its forcible merger with Andhra. As against this the Government has set up atleast one General Hospital in all the Seemandhra districts.
Not only this, the Government hospitals in Hyderabad, like its industries were managed into sickness and disrepute by the Seemandhra management. A case in point is the Osmania General Hospital and the NIMS. The condition of Osmania Hospital is worse than the Nazi ghettoes., there has been no upgrading of its equipment, nor advancement in the method of treatment. It lags behind in the services it provides, and is ill equipped to treat any major illness, and has been reduced to a hospice care provider that cannot cure and can only provide support for the dying and the destitute. The story of NIMS is vastly different, it has 2 faces one for the underprivileged who are herded into wards akin to Nazi ghettoes, and the other for the powerful jailbirds who come to its portals to escape prison sentences like Raju of Satyam and Lagdapati of Lanco.
The condition of other hospitals like Niloufer and the Government Maternity home, cannot be described, infested as they are by vermin and lacking in even the basic medical facilities, they are the refuge of the down trodden citizens of Hyderabad state. These insitutions which at one time were the beacons of hope have been progressively reduced to functioning as referral hospitals for the Corporate set ups. There has been a hidden agenda in running down these Government hospitals, their demise was devised to provide for the growth of the Private Corporate Hospitals in Hyderabad, which have been promoted and managed by the Seemandhra’s.
One of the first tasks of the State of Hyderabad will be to provide quality health care for its citizens. Towards this a Multi Specialty Government Hospital will be set up in each of the 10 districts, and each and every village will have a Primary Health Care Center to cater to the medical needs of its citizens.

Rosiah Stop Awarding Projects in Hyderabad State

The Government at the Center needs to step in immediately to ensure the State of Hyderabad is not stripped of its assets, by the retreating Seemandhra exploiters. The Andhra Government seems to be going full steam on awarding contracts worth crore of rupees to Seemandhra contractors, even though the (CAG) Comptroller and Auditor Generals report advises against these. A few instances of the undue haste and patronage being shown to the Seemandhra contractor lobby in awarding contracts in the soon to be created Hyderabad state are illustrated below.
The Andhra Government has approached the World Bank for a loan of Rs.1000 crore to develop the traffic and public transportation infrastructure in Hyderabad city, the capital Hyderabad state. The World Bank is ready to give this grant and an indication to this effect was made a few days back by the bank, and the Andhra machinery is working overtime to avail of these funds. The plan that was shared with the World Bank officials includes developing an integrated traffic system for the city of Hyderabad. The utter haste shown by the Semandhra administrators in getting the project report prepared and submitted to the World Bank, shows they are working against a deadline in awarding Government contracts. Knowing full well, that in another 12 months the state of Hyderabad will be a reality and they may be transferred back to their home districts, these officials are in a hurry to milk Hyderabad of as much of its monies as is possible. Their objective seems to be, empty the coffers of Hyderabad state by awarding contracts to the Seemandhra lobby right left and center, and finally when the time comes leave the people of Hyderabad holding the remains of an economically dead state.
The other instance is the award of the Hyderabad Metro Rail, eight consortia companies have qualified to participate in financial bids, and almost 50% of these are led by the Seemandhra lobby, Lanco Infra-OHL Concessions (Spain), Essar-Leighton (Australia)-Gayatri-VNR, GMR Infra, GVK-Samsung (South Korea). These consortia have already started making noises on the unviability of the project with the existing projections, and are requesting a relaxation in the terms of Agreement. The news filtering in from the corridors of power is that the Government is seriously considering this as it wants to award the contract by the end of April. Needless to say, this contract if awarded will add to the financial burden to the Hyderabad state.
While on one hand the Government is going at rocket speed in awarding the MMTS contract, on the other hand it has no resources to spare for improving the state of the existing MMTS network, and has been sitting on a proposal to pay a trifling Rs. 22 crore to the Integral Coach Factory, Chennai, for procuring the pending six rakes or trains. Needless to say, these six trains will vastly improve the current network and quality of services. A Government boasting of one lakh crore rupees budget has been unable to find such an ‘insignificant' sum for nearly a year now. This delay is because the beneficiary is the Integral Coach Factory and not a Seemandhra owned company.
Not only this, all projects which will add to the prosperity of the fatted Andhra region, but which will if completed imperil the economy of Hyderabad state, have been put on fast track and are being commissioned on a war footing, witness the Polavaram project which if completed will inundate vast stretches of fields in Khammam and spell the death knell for the Devadula (Chokka Rao) lift irrigation scheme intended to supply water to the drought prone areas of Hyderabad state.
It is imperative that we the people of Hyderabad, safe guard our interests and stop the Rosiah led Andhra Government from awarding any mega contracts in the state of Hyderabad. We the people of Hyderabad, demand that our state be spared from the rapacious acts of our captors, and demand the Government at the center to put a stop to this exploitation of our state. Let the lame duck government carry on its day to day activities, but let no policy decision or mega contract be awarded in the State of Hyderabad, till our Government takes oath shortly.
Jai Hyderabad. Jai Hind

Lets Rename the State of Telangana as State of Hyderabad

The stringent demand emanating from the powerful Seemandhra lobby is that Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana state be made a union territory if Telangana is granted statehood. The lobby cites so called investments the Seemandhra settlers made in the development of Hyderabad. The truth is a vast majority of these Seemandhra settlers solely invested in the real estate in Hyderabad in anticipation of a windfall. Now with the real market in the doldrums and with limited avenues to cut their losses and run, these people have latched on to the rainbow wisps of making Hyderabad a Union Territory.
There is a powerful section of the Seemandhra lobby, the band of construction companies who have profited from the massive Government contracts which were doled out right from the construction of the Nagarjuna Sagar dam to the current Metro Rail Project, this group has more to lose if the Hyderabad state is formed. They live in fear of the day when the Hyderabad Government investigates into and scraps the dubious deals awarded to them by the previous Andhra Government. The leadership at the center is like putty in the hands of the top rung of these carpet baggers from Andhra and Rayalseema the GVK’s, Subbirami Reddy’s and the GMR’s who collectively paid blood money amounting Rs.10,000 crore to the Congress in lieu of statehood for Telangana.
There are indications that the Central Leadership may succumb to the blackmail of this lobby and declare Hyderabad as the Union territory. We the people of Telangana can expect no justice either from the leadership at the center or from our elected representatives, in this final battle for justice and self respect we need to use all ammunition in our meager arsenal to wrest victory from these exploitative sources.
We the people of the erstwhile state of Hyderabad, have been blind to this weakness of ours have gone about saying statehood for Telangana, this was apt in 1969, but the rulkes of the game are drastically different, in 1969 these people were the invaders, today they have entrenched themselves into the Government and Administration in Hyderabad and need to be pulled out by the roots. If we want to safeguard Hyderabad from their lust filled eyes, we have to rename our state of Telangana as the state of Hyderabad. Historically it has always been the Hyderabad State, and it is strategically imperative that we rebrand our state as Hyderabad. Let us from today onwards replace Telangana with Hyderabad in all communication, and create an umbilical link between the two. The stamp of the Hyderabad state will depict its history, the Kakatiya Thoranam leading into the Charminar which merges into the Hitech city. Once this image is embedded in the psyche of the nation then no force on earth can even think of separating the two.
The battle for Hyderabad has to be won first in our minds, wherein we start thinking of Hyderabad as Telangana and Telangana as Hyderabad and later on in the corridors of power, where try as they might the Seemandhra lobby will not be able to separate the one from the other. We the people of Hyderabad, who are ready to sacrifice our lives need not think twice about relinquishing a name. Ultimate victory is ours, we now need to decide if we want Telangana with Hyderabad as UT or the State of Hyderabad intact with its 10 districts Adilabad, Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Khammam, Mahabubnagar, Medak, Nalgonda, Nizamabad, Rangareddy, and Warangal.

Hyderabad Liberation Struggle

The expansionist and acquisitive nature of the Rayalseema people has been ripped open for all to see. After receiving a slap in the face response to their proposed merger with Telangana state to form the Greater Rayalseema state, they have come up with an even grandiose plan for the state of Greater Rayalseema. Rayalaseema Rashtra Samithi party president Kuncham Venkata Subba Reddy has in his representation to the bogus Srikrishna Commission, demanded formation of Greater Rayalaseema State with 10 districts, comprising of the existing districts of Kadapa, Kurnool, Chittoor and Anantapur, and additional 2 districts of Prakasam and Nellore from Andhra, Vellore and Krishnagiri from Tamil Nadu and Bellary and Raichur from Karnataka. Kadapa is to be the capital and Tirupati the second capital. Apart from annexing 6 districts from neighboring states, he also demanded a special package of Rs. 2 lakh crore for the development of Greater Rayalseema, a High Court Bench in Kadapa. And finally the malicious demand that Hyderabad be made a Union Territory if Telangana is granted statehood.
This malicious demand of the Seemandhra people that Hyderabad be made a Union Territory if Telangana is granted statehood is akin to the thwarted suitor who throws acid on the face of his beloved, for spurning his attentions. The Government at the center should realize this for what it is, an outward manifestation of a sick and destructive psyche. The demand that Hyderabad be delinked from its thousand year old history of Telangana is laughable, but the voices propagating it are so stringent and powerful that we the people of Telangana have to thwart it now and forever.
From now onwards, let Telangana be called the Hyderabad state, it was Hyderabad for 400 years and will remain so for the next 4000 years. We need to brand Hyderabad as Telangana and Telangana as Hyderabad, this will happen only if we start rebranding our movement for the statehood of Telangana as the Statehood of Hyderabad. For us the people of Hyderabad, it will not matter whether the state is called Telangana or Hyderabad, but making each synonymous with the other will create an unbilical link, which even the most powerful lobby cannot break.
Let us from this day replace the word Telangana with Hyderabad, and carry forward our struggle for statehood under the banner of Hyderabad Liberation Struggle. I will start off with saying Jai Hyderabad, instead of Jai Telangana and hope the 3.5 crore people of Hyderabad, follow this and thwart the move of the Seemandhra people to separate the soul from the body.

Mr. Chidambaram, You Have Failed Please Resign

The annihilation of almost the entire Alpha Company of the Central Reserve Police Force's 62 Battalion, which lost 74 of its 80 personnel in an ambush at Chintalnar, the other day is the inexorable consequence of an ill-planned counter insurgency strategy of the Central Leadership. This incident as the others before it, 26/11 terrorist attack on Mumbai city in which more than ten coordinated shooting and bombing attacks were orchestrated across India's largest city, 11/7 in which seven bombs exploded within 11 minutes on the Suburban Railway in Mumbai, have been failures of the intelligence agencies and Home Security.
This is what happens when the Government forces its intelligence agencies into an overdrive to uncover nonexistent conspiracies. This is what has been happening for the last many years, while the IB and RAW were busy ferreting out details on Sadhvi Pragya, the Pakistan terrorists were busy plotting the siege of Mumbai, busy as these agencies were in meeting the political agenda of the power at the center and state, it missed out on vital signs on the impending attack. The same laxity in working on intelligence inputs on insurgent activities while going full steam in meeting the agendas of the political leadership is responsible for the massacre and loss of life of an entire battalion.
Chidambaram, who presented intelligence reports on the non existent influence of Maoists on the struggle for Telangana’s statehood at the all party meeting, in New Delhi on January 5, 2010, could not get any inkling on the congregation of over 1000 Maoists in the Dantewada region. An operation of this magnitude could not have been executed without long and meticulous planning, it would need massive logistical support, there is no way these preparations could be carried out below the radar of the intelligence agencies, maybe the IB and RAW would have got on it, had they not all been busy preparing reports to further their masters agenda.
It is a strategic blunder that, ill trained central forces were deployed to flush out the Maoists from their well entrenched terrain, while the highly trained elite jungle warfare units such as the Andhra Pradesh Greyhounds were deployed in laying seize to Osmania University to control and intimidate the struggle for Telangana statehood. What a reversal of strategy, fight canons with peanuts and use the might of the tanks to crush a column of ants. You Mr. Chidambaram have failed on all counts, you and your Government have with your callous attitude, forced nearly 300 Telangana youth to commit suicide and by your ill-conceived and half baked counter insurgency strategy sent an entire battalion of Indian warriors to their death in the jungles of Dantewada.
Mr. Chidambaram, please accept your failure and resign. And a word of advise to your Government, if you continue to murder the aspirations of 3.5 crore Telangana people to a life of justice, self determination and self respect you will be planting the seeds of future Dantewada’s in the hearts of our suppressed and oppressed youth. For if today you fail the people of Telangana, tomorrow you may have to answer to the Nation on this.

Andhra Government Withers Telangana Fields

The Andhra Government is all set to extend the date for closure of canalsin W.Godavari district by 10-15 days to facilitate water supply for paddy fields in the tail-end parts. Not only this, Mr.Suryanarayana Raju, Secretary of the Andhra Pradesh Rytu Karyacharana Samithi has asked the district authorities to supply water for fish farming. According to him, it will be unfair to deprive the fish farmers of water. The Andhra fish ponds will be filled with canal water after watering the paddy fields. This benevolence of the Seemandhra led Government towards the Andhra farmers is in sharp contrast to the attitude of the Government in providing water for the parched fields of the Telangana farmers in Ghanapur.

Crops in as many as 2,500 acres are in the danger of getting withered under Ghanapur ayacut, thanks to the indifference of various departments, that are infested by the Seemandhra settlers. Severe drought conditions in the preceding year, adversely affected the khariff crop in Telangana. The farmers in Ghanapur took up cultivation of paddy, sugarcane and sunflower only after the Government agreed to release water during the rabi season. The debts incurred by the farmers in procuring the required capital for sowing the rabi crop can only be imagined. Water was made available at three instances in the rabi season, during which the crop was grown to a considerable stage. And just before these crops could be harvested the Irrigation Department pulled the proverbial rug from under these hapless Telangana farmers by delaying the release of the final round of water, this insipte of the fact that 25 tmcft of water was released from the Singoor reservoir expressly for the Ghanapur ayacut.

The farmers of Ghanpur, had to approach the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) for respite from the Administrations inhuman attitude in withholding of water, and the water was released only after Justice B. Subhashan Reddy, Chairman of SHRC directed the Principal Secretary, Minor Irrigation to release the water immediately. According to some farmers, even the release of water would not save the day for farmers as paddy crop in most of the areas at Kishtapur, Macharam and Rapur has already withered, and this water can only save the existing sugarcane crop in some areas.
The step motherly treatment meted out to Telangana and its people is visible all round us. There can be no excuse to condone the callous attitude of a State administration that releases water to save the crops of an impoverished and on the brink of destitution farmers only on orders from the Human Rights Commission. We the people of Telangana can get justice and the right to a livelihood only in our separate state.

Andhra Government’s Plan to Sell Singareni to Coal Mines

The Government of Andhra Pradesh is hell bent on leaving behind just a skeleton of Telangana, when they finally leave state is bifurcated into Telangana and Andhra. The eyes of the Seemandhra usurpers have always been fixed on goring out the twin jewels of Telangana, the city of Hyderabad and the Singareni Coal Mines. While one wing of these vested interests is busy fomenting communal riots in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, so as to fulfill the prophecy of their gang leader Lagdapati, on Hyderabad falling a victim to communal riots if it continues as the centuries old capital of Telangana (Hyderabad) state. The other is working overtime to get its clutches on to the Singareni Coal Mines.

Not, a month goes by without an attempt being made to usurp these mines from the Telangana people. A few months back, the Tadicherla coal mines in Karimnagar, part of the Singareni Collieries geological area, were all but sold off to ETA-ECCI-PLR, Joint Venture, a company promoted by Kadapa MP Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy and the AP state forest minister P. Ramachandra Reddy, both hailing from Seemandhra region.

The latest plot of the Seemandhra lobby to get this Navratna of Telangana within its greedy grasp was unveiled by S. Narsing Rao, the Managing Director of SCCL. Speaking to the press, last week on the occasion of releasing the annual financial report of SCCL, he stated, that Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has decided to invite private participation in extracting coal from ‘unviable' projects where the cost of production is more than the present sale price. Narsing Rao, went on to add that, SCCL is planning to develop two to three clusters allowing interested private players to use part of reserves and sell the rest to SCCL. “We will not make any investment in the projects, but will get share of coal,”

The Seemandhra lobby seems to be have hit upon this gullible ploy to get its hooks on to the Singareni Coal Fields of Telangana. The ground work for this sell off of Telangana’s natural wealth under pretext of private participation seems to be have been almost completed, and SCCL is gearing up to issue the advertisements for this.

It is a moot point as to who will be the successful bidders to get hold of these mines. And all this talk of unviability of these mines is nothing but eyewash to legitimize this daylight robbery of Telangana assets. The game plan of the Andhra Pradesh Government is obvious, strip Telangana of all its wealth and leave behind a skeleton of dead hopes, sold off assets, and parched fields for the Telangana people to nurture. It is upto to us the people of Telangana, to be on our guard and protect our treasures from being auctioned off by these white collar Seemandhra bandits.

The Eerie Silence of Narasimhan on Communal Clashes in Hyderabad

The Governor of Andhra Pradesh, has been silent on the communal strife in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. The same Narasimhan who was hyper active in leading the State Administrations’ brutal handling of the Telangana struggle has not uttered even a single statement asking for peace save alone convening a high level meeting of the State functionaries to monitor the situation. Even as the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad burned, ESL was busy attending the prize distribution ceremony organized by the Andhra Pradesh branch of the Indian Red Cross Society.

Narasimhan, the protégé of the Seemandhra lobby, had within a fortnight of moving into the Raj Bhawan in Hyderabad, had a report prepared on the Naxal and Maoist influence on the Telangana movement. Now, when all evidence points to the handiwork of outside elements in the communal flare up in Hyderabad, there is not a single directive emanating from the Raj Bhawan on this.

Narasimhan had called a high level meeting of the State Government, and had gone as far as to upbraid the Home Minister, Sabita Indira Reddy on the state’s mild response to the Telangana movement. After, Narasimhan moved into the Raj Bhawan post the orchestrated ouster of ND Tiwari, the Andhra Pradesh administrations response to Telangana movement became draconian, the police wielded lathis, water canons and fired rubber pellets at hapless students with impunity. Neither a single rally nor a public meeting could be held without the sanction of the courts, and then too it was disrupted by the state administration. Contrast this with the current situation, not only were religious processions of both communities allowed in a hyper sensitive atmosphere, but were given the Governments blessings. AK Khan, who led the ruthless charge against the hapless students of Telangana, was but a mute spectator when the mobs went on a communal rampage.

Did not the fact that the same flags totaling over a few lacks were put up across the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, for both Milad Ul Nabi and Hanuman Jayanti, awaken even the slightest suspicion in the former intelligence Officer ESL Narasimhan and the IG of Police AK Khan. Their unnatural silence on this means only one thing they are aware of the identity of the people responsible for this flare-up but cannot act against this lobby as it is detrimental to their interests. Now that Lagdapati's prophecy about Hyderabad being torn by Communal strife if Telangana is formed has come true. Narasimhan will get his minions in the Intelligence Department busy in preparing a report on the delicate communal balance in Hyderabad that can erupt at any moment if Telangana is formed.

Communal Clashes in Hyderabad – Handiwork of Anti-Telangana Lobby

The city of Hyderabad has for the last few days been racked by communal clashes. The peace loving people of Hyderabad have been thrown into communal strife after a lapse of nearly two decades of peace. In the past, there has always been a visible emotionally charged trigger that set off these violent incidents, starting with the Rameezabi case in the late 70’s to the Babri Masjid demolition in the early 90’s. This time round there has been no trigger for the spate of senseless violence that the city is witnessing.

There were indications emanating from several quarters that were indicative of the coming violence for the last fortnight. The ground was being carefully prepared to create a situation whereby the Telangana struggle could be relegated to the back pages of the dailies prior to receiving a quiet burial by the Sri Krishna Commission. The first sign of this came from Lagdapati, the voice of the anti Telangana lobby, he made a statement last week in Vijayawada prophesizing the city of Hyderabad will be besieged by anti National forces if Telangana is formed. And within a fortnight the city of Hyderabad is afflicted by a communal fire that started with no visible and understandable reason.

The current flare-up of communal passions has been planned with precision and perfect timing. The people of the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad from both communities are surprised at the violent turn of trivial incidents, which no one could foresee. All this points to an outside hand, and to know who is behind this carnage of a peaceful city, we need only follow the benefits trail. The immediate fallout of the current situation is the issue of Telangana’s statehood, which has been relegated to the back ground, and this benefits the Telangana detractors. It is upto to us the people of Hyderabad to see to it that the nefarious intentions of these anti social elements are defeated.

It is my earnest appeal to our Brothers and Sisters in Hyderabad do not fall into the clutches of our common enemy and fall prey to his machinations. Our enemy are the people who are opposed to our State of Telangana. He is both ruthless and cunning to pit one brother against the other. Let us stand united in this hour of need of our beloved city, Hyderabad. Like the British our detractors plan on dividing us to continue with their tyranny over our region. Remember we have a higher cause calling us, the liberation of our motherland from the clutches of these Seemandhra usurpers. And we can achieve it only if we stand united and turn a deaf ear to the words of these serpents. For if today we fall prey to his insinuations, we will lose our city and our state of Telangana forever.

The Glorious History of Telangana Submerged Under Government Apathy

Telangana has a rich history of 3000 years, and this can be seen in the ruins that dot the districts of Warangal, Hyderabad and Nalgonda. The tourism potential of Telangana is immense, it is bestowed with a bounty of cultural and religious relics and natural landscapes for adventure sports. Alas, none of this has been advertised and publicized till date. For the successive Seemandhra Government’s, tourism ministers the tourist potential in Telangana started with the Charminar and ended with the pearls in Hyderabad, with a minor mentions of the Warangal fort and Salarjung Museum. Contrast, this with the way Vishakapatnam has been touted as a must visit tourist spot in Andhra Pradesh with its Arukku valley and Borra Caves.

In the last few decades the number of tourists visiting Vishakapatnam, Vijayawada, and Chittor has increased at more than double the rate for Warangal and Nalgonda combined. Warangal has a rich tapestry of historical relics, the architectural marvel of the 1000 pillar temple, the Warangal fort, and the beauty of the stone carvings in Ramappa temple, it has the potential to attract both foreign and domestic tourists. How many people in the country know of Nagarjuna Sagar Konda? It is a manifestation of mans efforts to save his history and provide for water security of his progeny. It can with a little effort be integrated into the Buddhist circuit, resulting in attracting the hordes of Buddhist pilgrims. Promoting tourism in Telangana, would have enriched the State and provided a decent standard of living to its citizens. But, this subject has never even been brought up by successive Seemandhra Governments of AP. Forget investing in the tourism potential of the Telangana region, the Andhra Government is hell bent on destroying the very edifices that can earn revenue for the State of Telangana.

The Government in its haste to develop the connectivity to Vijayawada, has gone ahead with starting work on building a 4 lane highway connecting it to Hyderabad. This Highway will wipe out 26 historically significant archeological monuments. Beginning with the ‘kos minars' or milestones from the Qutub Shahi dynasty, Chalukyan and Kakatiya period temples, mosques from the Mughal era, which can be creatively packaged and sold as a “Highway Tourism Project” will be turned to dust. Most important of all, there’s a 13th century Shiva temple from the Kakatiya period, located just before Chityal, in Warangal having a ‘garba gruha', ‘arthamandapa', ‘maha mandapa' and a four-pillared ‘Nandi mandapa', a part of the temple is buried under the existing road, and needs to be excavated. The government instead of saving this monument is intent on burying it still deeper into eternity by running a bull dozer over it.

I have seen places in India and abroad with far less to see but packaged as the ultimate destinations for travelers looking at a flavor of ancient culture. Tourism in Telangana, is never been a subject of debate or interest, but it can bring undreamed of prosperity to a State, witness Rajasthan, Kerala and now Gujarat. However, these states have been promoted by their leaders, none of them have been crushed into the dust like the history and culture of Telangana.

Tourism for Telangana the 29th state of India, will be one of the main sources of revenue, and it is incumbent upon us to safe guard our monuments and heritage, and force the abandonment of this Hyderabad-Vijayawada 4 lane highway.

Where Have all the Industries of Telangana Gone

The history of Telangana from the period of the Satavahanas, to the Asaf Jahi’s is dotted with the benevolence of its rulers. Each dynasty which ruled over the region enriched its culture and the lives of its citizens. However, since the forcible merger of the Telangana nee Hyderabad state with the Andhra region, there has been a drastic reversal in fortunes of its citizens. Successive Andhra and Rayalseema regimes have reduced a once prosperous people to a pile of bones and skin, who commit suicide at the prospect of facing another year of failed crops.

The people of Telangana have since the merger of the state with Andhra districts of erstwhile Madras state, have been progressively marginalized, their lands have been made barren by diverting their rightful share of waters to the verdant fields of Seema Andhra region. The factories where its workers earned their livelihood have been systematically run down to sickness, sold off and the factory lands converted to sprawling colonies for the settlers.

In 1956, when Telangana state (Hyderabad state) was merged to form Andhra Pradesh, the region was a buzz of activity with several large thriving industries, chief among which were the Azam Jahi Mills, Nizam Sugar Factory, DBR Mills, Sirpur Sir Silk Mills, Deccan Glass factory, Praga Tools, Soda factory, Iron factory , Firangula factory, and the Antargam spinning mills. These factories collectively employed over 1,00,000 workers in Telangana. Save for the lone Praga Tools which is alive today all the others have been meticulously nurtured to sickness and closure. There is a single story that binds the closure of these industries and loss of livelihood of thousands of Telangana workers, it is a story of Government apathy, systematic ruin of a thriving industry, followed by a distress sale to Seemandhra businessmen, who later converted the industrial land into housing colonies.

The Nizam Sugar Factory in Bodhan was at one time Asia’s biggest sugar factory. During the time of Nizam the Sugar Factory's holdings included over 1,600 square kilometres of land, 14 village camps and Hospital. Other services that were provided for the children of employees included a high school, junior and degree colleges. The factory was managed into sickness by the cadre which was primarily deputed from the Andhra region. It was finally sold at a throw away price to Gokaraju Rangaraju from W.Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.

The story of the Azam Jahi Mills is similar, this was established in Warangal during Nizams rule and provided livelihood to about 15000 people in Warangal. It was also managed to sickness, closed down and the Mills lands sold as real estate under YSR. A housing colony is being built on this prime land in the heart of Warangal.

Contrast this with the Seemandhra Government’s patronage and wholeheartedness in reviving the sick Vizag Steel Plant at a cost of 1,500 crores. It would have taken this amount to revive all the 8 industries in Telangana, and saved the livelihood of over a lack of people. But, this would not have suited the Seemandhra game plan, whose mission has always been to plunder and deprive the people of Telangana of their right to livelihood. The people of Rayalseema and Andhra have prospered by exploiting the people of Telangana, and the only way ahead for the state of Telangana to prosper is to break free of these Seemandhra clutches.

The Seemandhra Settlers can Never Belong to Hyderabad

The city of Hyderabad is known for its tolerant attitude and composite culture. This is a culture that is a result of the interactions and amalgamations of many peoples, languages and their ways of living. Hyderabad has a history of more than 400 years, and is popularly referred to as the “ganga-jumna tehzeeb”, whose literal translation means an amalgamation of all cultures.

For nearly 350 years from the time Sultan Muhammad Quli swam across the river Musi to meet his beloved Bhagmati who he later married and named Hyder Mahal, and founded the city of Hyderabad as a token of his love, the city was nurtured by all who came the Hindus and Muslims, Armenians, Anglo-Indians, Parsis, Shias from Uttar Pradesh and Sikhs and Punjab. While it was the administrative skills of the North Indians that made Hyderabad the most well governed of all princely states. It was the genius of Ali Nawaz Jung, an engineer in the Nizam’s Government who prepared a comprehensive water resources development plan under which several medium sized irrigation projects were undertaken, notable among them being Pocharam, Dindi, Palair, Wyra, Manair and anicuts at Ghanpur on Manjira and Khanapur on Godavari. These water reservoirs were till the 1950’s supplying ample amount of water to the Telangana region.

Since the 1950’s, the city of Hyderabad has seen a reversal of fortune, with those coming to the city from the Seema and Andhra regions, coming to pillage and the city and its people of their prosperity and livelihood. From a life of abundance the people of Hyderabad were reduced to paupers in their own home.

For these people, Hyderabad was the proverbial el dorado, they came they pillaged and continue to plunder. Industries set up by the Nizam to fuel the growth of the region were systematically run down by successive Andhra and Rayalseema regimes, and the lands belonging to these industries sold for their real estate value. Prime examples of this are the Azam Jahi Mills and the Nizam Sugar Factory. Not only did this deprive the state of its revenues but also caused the loss of livelihood to families of over 15,000 workers in Azam Jahi Mills and 10,000 workers in Nizam Sugar Factory.

At the root of this are the returns on investment to be got from Real estate. This story is repeated in the development of the Greater Hyderabad region, large tracts of land were acquired from the Natives, under threat of Government acquisition. Fearing their lands will be acquired by the Government for paltry sums, the Natives sold their lands to these settlers at throw away rates, and once this acquisition was completed the Government notice was annulled. This daylight robbery was a well thought out and executed with the collusion of the Seema Andhra led political regime in the State, the Government Officers and the businessmen.

These carpet baggers from Seema and Andhra made their pile of money by grasping and selling Hyderabad’s lands and invested the money in their own districts. Had there not been a slump in the real estate market, these people would have sold off their ill acquired lands and scooted back to their own districts. It is precisely because of this attitude of pillage and run why these Andhra and Seema settlers can never belong to Hyderabad and Telangana.

Keep Your Eyes Open to Avoid Being Short Changed by the Dubious Duo D. Prasad Rao and V. Vasanth Kumar

The AP Government has appointed a cabinet sub-committee headed by Revenue Minister D. Prasada Rao to work out the modalities for allotment of government and private land for cultivation to self-help groups of women on lease. The other committee members include Ministers N. Raghuveera Reddy (Agriculture) and V. Vasanth Kumar (Rural Development).

This committee was constituted last week as a follow-up action in tune with the decision taken by the Cabinet at its meeting on March 6 which cleared a draft of a bill for leasing out Government and Private Land to group of women members of the self-help groups for a period five years for developing such lands under government schemes. The period of the lease will be 5 years.
All’s good so far, the intentions are laudable but we know that Telangana women will be the last to benefit from these allotments. We the people of Telangana need to keep a hawk’s eye on the allotment of these land leases and ensure the self help groups from Telangana are awarded their rightful share of the land. If one goes by the origin and history of these members of the committee, there is no way Telangana women can get a just share of the allotment. The antecedents of Raghuveera and V. Vasanth Kumar are indicative of the injustice that will be meted out to our people, if we are not alert. Raghuveera is a die hard Andhrite from Ananthpur while V. Vasanth Kumar, the Ungutur MLA has been quiet vocal on his propagation of anti-Telangana people. Just the other day, Vasanth Kumar, was speaking about launching a signature campaign in favor of the Polavaram project, which if completed will bring desolation and ruin to the Khammam district of Telangana. That these people will brazen out any venture that benefits the Seema Andhra populace at the expense of Telangana is a moot point and has been proven many times over.
We the people of Telangana, right from the people working in the revenue and land records, to the Zilla Parishad and the representatives in the State Assembly, need to keep a tight check on the allotment of these lands, we not only need to ensure the Women of Telangana get an equitable share but also that these allotted lands are viable. If left to these Seemandhra representatives the lion’s share of the allotment will go to women from the Seema Andhra regions, while Telangana women are awarded a minuscule share of the allotments and the type of land allotted to the Telangana women will be arid, non-cultivable and a burden on an already challenged people.
We have to keep our fight alive on all fronts and not give a moments respite to the Seemandhra leaders. For if we relax our vigil by even a few degrees the loss will be immeasurable. We need to remember that Telangana will be a reality once these settlers from Andhra and Rayalseema realize that they can no longer subjugate Telangana at will.

Polavaram and the Relentless Plunder of Telangana

Even as the state is caught in the throes of separation, and the youth of Telangana commit suicide in desperation at the deafening silence of the Center’s response to the 3.5 crore Indians cry for justice and deliverance, the aggressors and rapists of Telangana continue to plunder at region.

Polavarum, or rather the Indira Sagar project is relentlessly being pushed across by the Andhra leaders. It is the clinching evidence that will nail the lies on why these Andhra’s object to the Telangana state. The Polavarum project will sacrifice over 200 villages of Khammam district to irrigate and enrich the Andhra fields in Godavari, Krishna and Vizag districts and as a bonus provide drinking water to the city of Vizag and a continuous supply of water to the Vizag Steel Plant. This scourge of Telangana, called Polavaram will bring desolation and despair to over 2,00,000 Telangana people by submerging their lands and indirectly affect the livelihood and future of another 10,00,000 people living in the upstream areas.

Polavaram is an example of the impunity and callousness with which Telangana and its people have been systematically stripped of their basic human rights of right to livelihood and right to own property. The Polavarum project will submerge over 200 villages in Khammam and aggravate the misery of the Telangana farmers upstream. The dam created from the Polavaram barrage will reach 145 Kms upstream and prevent Dummugudem hydropower to generate power as planned. Dummugudem provides power for Devadula (Chokka Rao) lift irrigation scheme that will supply water to the drought prone Telangana areas. Polavaram will not only impoverish the fragile livelihood of the people living in the Dams area, but will also snuff out the life of the regions serviced by the Devadula project. That the Andhra Government with the Center blessings plans to go ahead with creating this monster that will make the already obese child, the Andhra farmers still more obese by feeding it with the food of the undernourished child the Tealangana farmers, shows the step motherly treatment the people of Telangana have been receiving for the last 50 years.

The AP Government is trying to sweeten the Polavarum project for Orissa and Madhya Pradesh, each of them will get 1.5 TMC and 5 TMC of water respectively, as well as the right to use the waterways for transportation at lower rates. While these modalities of recompensing the other states are being worked out. No such relief will be available to the Telangana region, as it is still an occupied territory within the Seemandhra grasp. It is a sorry state of affairs that in this Nation of ours not a voice is raised against this planned Government sanctioned rape of a region.

Against this back drop, the congress MLA’s from the coastal region led by the Ungutur MLA, V. Vasanth Kumar have embarked on a public awareness campaign to educate people on the benefits of the project. These people also plan on a signature campaign in Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari and Krishna districts, to mobilize people against the "anti-Polavaram forces". Pray, can anyone tell me how you can raise public awareness and educate people on a project that will annihilate the lives of 3.5 lakh people. Hitler could surely have learnt a few lessons from these Andhra Nazi’s on how to kill an entire region and race in full view of the world, and with the benign blessings of the Central Leadership.
If the Nation does not wake up to the tragedy of Telangana today and see that the region is set free from the Seemandhra clutches, tomorrow it may be too late. Today we plead for a separate state heed our cry for justice, do not let your silence push us to a state confrontation. Decide now whether you want Telangana in peace or with blood on your hands.

Beware of Seemandhra’s Machinations

Not a day passes without the heinous intentions of the Seemandhra people being laid bare. The latest illustration of their malafide intentions was given by D. Siva Ramulu Naidu, a retired Executive Engineer with the Irrigation and Power department, in his representation to the time pass Sri Krishna Commission, he appealed that all four regions of the state viz Coastal Andhra, Telangana, Greater Hyderabad and Rayalaseema be given a Deputy Chief Minister each to look after the needs of their respective territories. Look at the maliciousness of the words, this man has shamelessly delinked Greater Hyderabad from Telangana, either he is insane or is so sunk in greed and lust that he has the guts to say Greater Hyderabad is a separate region . These Andhra’s are so morally corrupt as to sever a mothers body and trade in her vital organs. The levels to which they are willing to stoop to keep Hyderabad and its modesty within their lecherous grasp is beyond human decency.

We have been saying time and again that these Seemandhra rapists have set their lustful filled eyes on Hyderabad, that too on Greater Hyderabad, and no points for guessing the reasons. These elements have acquired large tracts of land around Hyderabad, mostly Government land at throw away prices, and it is the fear of having these illegally acquired lands being investigated and seized by the Government of Telangana that is behind all this dramabaazi on Telugu brotherhood. Maybe like several others of his band Ramulu has illegal land holdings in and around Hyderabad, hence this shot in the dark on four regions. I request the anti corruption bureau to investigate the financial condition of D. Siva Ramulu Naidu, there are sure to be plenty of skeletons in his house and the ACB will find that this man’s finances are way above what he could have earned legally in his entire career, not once but twice over.

The unholy intentions of these people is to keep Hyderabad within their tentacles at all costs. Not a day passes by without these white collared bandits spouting forth some inane excuse or the other against Telangana. Till a few days back we had the Home Ministry, the Governor and the Police speaking about Maoist infiltration in the struggle for Telangana’s statehood. This falsehood was perpetrated by the Seemandhra leadership and its stooges in the Center and the Raj Bhawan in Hyderabad to justify the police atrocities against the people of Telangana. And it took, no less an authority than the Supreme Court of India to put a stop these lies of the Nazi’s of Andhra.

Enough is enough, we have tolerated the greed and rapaciousness of these Seemandhras for 50 long years. The time for negotiations is over, what is needed is direct action, as a first step let us start weeding out these Seemaandhras from our land. Let no Seemandhra be allowed to work in our offices or study in our colleges. Let us make an example of Seemandhra infiltrators enrolled in our Universities and force them to go back. It is only when these people feel our boots on their backsides will they leave our Motherland.

This Ugadi Let’s Celebrate the Birth of the Telangana era

Ugadi which literally translates into “start of an era” has truly lived up to its name this year and will be chronicled in history as the day that marked the start of the Telangana era. According to Hindu mythology, the creator of the Hindu pantheon Lord Brahma started creation on this day - Chaitra suddha padhyami or the Ugadi day, so too shall this day mark the transition of the Telangana movement from being a passive self flagellating movement for statehood to an active aggressive one with the fight being taken to the aggressor’s door.

The Warangal zilla parishad general body, in its meeting yesterday unanimously passed a resolution urging the government to send back the Andhra officers. It also passed a resolution for recruiting only Telangana people to its ranks. The malafide intentions of the Seemandhra leaders were laid bare in the meeting with details emerging on how several officials from Andhra were posted to Warangal. These officers from Andhra were allegedly posted in Warangal at the behest of the Andhra leaders, who used their clout in Hyderabad. To cite just one instance, the IKP urban project officer was posted in Warangal and the incumbent, belonging to Telangana, was shifted to her parent department, this transfer was carried out at the insistence of Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal, one of the most vocal and public faces of the anti Telangana lobby, no points for guessing how much and in what way Lagdapati was rewarded for this use of his power. Not only this there are a large number of Seemandhra settlers occupying posts that rightfully belong to Telangana people in 14 other departments of the Zilla Parishad. If this is the magnitude of the Seemandhra infiltration in just the Zilla Parishad office of a single district, one can only imagine the number of these usurpers occupying Telangana jobs in all our 10 districts.

It is the utter shamelessness of these Seemandhra people that they continue to come and occupy our posts while we talk of evicting them from our state and the audacity of their leadership that actively encourages such behavior. Is it for this continued snathing of our bread and our livelihood that these people talk of living together in brotherhood. Let the Lagdapati’s of Andhra realize that today, the people of Warangal have resolved to throw out these usurpers of our jobs from the ZP’s offices in Warangal, tomorrow it will be the collectorates, the commercial taxes department, the revenue and land records department that will resolve to kick you out of our offices and departments in all the 10 districts. Go, now while you still have the chance of leaving in dignity, tarry any longer and we will throw you out bodily.

Just as Ugadi heralds the beginning of new life with plants (barren until now) acquiring new life, shoots and leaves, so shall it herald new life and hope to the people of Telangana. We have made a beginning in Warangal let us carry it out across the entire region, let the Telangana organizations prepare a list of these settlers occupying our posts and then we will bodily evict them both from our posts and our state. The panchangasravanam for Telangana the 29th state of Independent India has been read, the boundary of Telangana has been drawn by the divine hand and Hyderabad proclaimed its capital, it is just a matter of formality now for the boundary to be drawn on paper.

Kapil Sibal Singed by Telangana Fire

There’s some really heartening news from Hyderabad, the Central Government has finally tasted the wrath of the people of Telangana for turning a deaf ear to our plea for justice. Students of the Central University in Hyderabad forced the retreat of Union Ministers Kapil Sibal and Purandeswari, who left Hyderabad with their tails between their legs, ahead of schedule and cancelling all engagements. These two central ministers were in Hyderabad to inaugurate the new building of CIEFL (Center for English and Foreign Languages) and to attend the meeting of the vice-chancellors of the central universities. Neither the Ministers nor the police were prepared for the siege by the students, who blocked their road demanding a separate state and withdrawal of the bogus Sri Krishna Commission.

Till now the Government at the Center has been successful in turning a deaf ear and a blind eye to the aspirations of the 3.5 crore people of Telangana. It was able to delude itself into believing the reports emanating from the Raj Bhawan and the State Secretariat on the tapering off of the demand for a separate state. However, now that its representatives have been forced to retreat in fear of the student's ire cancelling all engagements, the High Command and her coterie is bound to sit up and take notice. A hundred students have been able to achieve, what the massive rallies and innumerable petitions could not, made the power at the center sit up and take notice of our anger and frustration. We now need to press ahead with this advantage and ensure that no public meeting or visit of the central leadership whether of the Congress, the BJP or the CPI and CPM passes off successfully.

Obviously the unabated suicides in support of a separate state has had no effect on these political parties, over hundred people setting themselves afire has elicited no reaction, save a few empty words of sympathy and advise of forbearance. For long have we showed patience and were content to raise our voice within the walls of our bastions, now the time has come for us to move out of the open air prisons we have been confined to within the campuses, hostels and our homes, and take the fight to the detractors territory. The Telangana lawyers made a start by laying siege to the Parliament in Delhi for a day, at the start of the budget session. We have to follow it up with a peoples march to Delhi culminating in presenting our demand for a separate state to the supreme head of the Indian State, the President of India. If the President has the powers to commute a convicts death sentence then surely She can set the process to commute the living death sentence imposed on the 3.5 crore people of Telangana.

The only way forward for us the children of Telangana is to take the fight for a separate state to the doorsteps of the Power center. Telangana will emerge only when the tremors originating from Hyderabad rock the Parliament in Delhi.

We do not need these Politicians to Achieve Telangana State

Danam Nagender, the AP Health Minister refused to sign the memorandum being prepared by Telangana Congress legislators, for submission to the Sri Krishna Commission in support of a separate state. The logic given by the Health Minister was, that it may give the wrong signal to the High Command, who may not like the Telangana Legislators submitting a separate memorandum, as the APCC president was authorized by the Central leadership to submit his report to the panel. Needless to say, Nagender is more loyal to the High Command in Delhi than he is to the electorate who put him in the Assembly. And everyone knows the view point that will be put forward by the Seemandhra dominated APCC.

It is a mute point, that the Sri Krishna Commission is a bogus time pass commission, set up by the Congress at the Center to put Telangana’s statehood in cold storage. What is disappointing is the attitude of the Telangana legislators and MP’s to the demands of its citizens. The only question we have of Nagender is, We can understand your abhorrence to relinquishing your office of profit in the current set up, we can understand your reluctance to resigning from your elected post which may well be the last time you occupy an elected office, but what we cannot understand and forgive is, your refusal to sign the Memorandum in favor of the state of Telangana. We have asked for proof of your loyalty to us and our state and you have failed miserably.

It is tragedy of Telangana that our history is littered with the treachery of our leaders. The story is the same from M. Chenna Reddy and his band of bandits in 1969 to the current crop of traitors like Nagender. None of these elected representatives have shown the courage to take on the power in the center nor the leadership to steer the movement to Statehood. While at the one end we have the Congressmen looking towards the High Command in Delhi, cowering in fear at each imagined displeasure and rejoicing at every smile, while at the other end we have KCR and Vijayshanti of the TRS, who cling on like limpets to their seats in Parliament, neither has attended the Parliament proceedings nor raised Telangana’s voice in the Central hall. KCR, please say how many times have you raised the slogan of “Jai Telangana” in the over 30 days that Parliament has been in session.

We the people of Telangana, do not need you and your ilk to carve out our state, we have the will and the resolve to do it under own steam. If you harbor the misguided impression that we need you to realize our dream of Telangana, please disabuse yourself of this illusion. Telangana has been betrayed by its politicians time and again and this time round we will not make the same mistakes as our fathers by believing in you. The future of Telangana is too precious to be left to your machinations and greed. It is we the people of Telangana who will bring in the birth of the 29th state of India.

Hyderabad Developed at the Cost of Other Cities in AP, Truth Laid Bare

The main contention of the Seemandhra people to the creation of Telangana is the status of Hyderabad. They are willing to set the region free if Hyderabad is either made the Joint Capital or a Union Territory. It is like asking a mother to go free, if she leaves her nubile and beautiful daughter in the captors clutches. The argument put forth by these people is that Hyderabad was developed at the expense of other cities. What blasphemy, Hyderabad was made the capital of Andhra Pradesh because it was the most developed city in the region, it was next only to Delhi in terms of infrastructure and beauty, infact Dr.Ambedkar was so impressed by the city that he proposed it’s being made the Nation’s capital.

Hyderabad was the most developed and progressive state in the entire country when it was annexed with the Andhra region. It was an ideal city with educational institutions, industries, water bodies, sewage system, roads network and power supply. Hyderabad the city of lakes and plenty has in the last 50 years been turned into a nightmare, where the citizens thirst for water in summer and in the rainy season are forced out of their homes by flood waters. There has been no real development in the city for the last 50 years, neither has the water supply been augmented nor the sewage and water works network revamped.

Infact the opposite has occurred successive Seemandhra led Governments have officially usurped public lands by first filling up lakes and then building colonies, which were sold to the settlers from Andhra and Rayalseema. Dilsukhnagar, Saroornagar, Lower tankbund, Masabtank, Nallakunta are a few of the colonies that have been built over filled up lakes. This has both depleted the water supply to the city and choked up the city’s lungs so that today Hyderabad sweats 10 months in a year.

Hyderabad must be the only city in the world which suffers from floods caused by the overflow of sewage and rainwater. The water and sewage system built by the Nizams in the 1940’s and 1950’s serves the city’s needs to this day. The only visible change is the burst out of concrete sores that these settlers have built across the city. Till yesterday, they were busy plundering and spoiling the City from within, today they have spread their tentacles to the adjoining areas. The Natural heritage of the city, the pre historic rock formations surrounding Hyderabad are being dynamited away to provide fodder to these settlers granite mills, landscapes which could in the future be a revenue earner for the state aka Yellow Stone Natural Park of USA is today being sold off as prime real estate.

Hyderabad, the city of romance is today the bone of contention between its children who would nurture the city with the love it deserves and the Seemandhra settlers, the self appointed pimps who are bent on scraping away the last fig leaf. If only cities could speak, Hyderabad would kick its exploiters back to their Kurnools and Vishakapatnams.

A Very Loud and Clear No to Rayalseema’s Wish of Remaining with Telangana

A section of Rayalseema legislators led by J.C. Diwakar Reddy are proposing the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh into two states Andhra and Greater Rayalseema comprising of Telangana and Rayalseema. Is it a wonder that these Rayalseema leaders are wary of Andhra’s and prove the saying that two crooks cannot stay in the same house. The Rayalseema leaders contention is that Rayalseema would suffer the most if the state was bifurcated. According to them, Andhra has nothing to lose but Rayalseema will have to depend on Telangana for river water and to mitigate this dependency they believe it is more beneficial if Rayalseema merges with Telangana.

What a joke! how can these Rayalseema leaders even think that we will be willing to live with them. Dividing the state into Andhra and Telangana+Rayalseema, will be like rescuing a forcibly confined lady from one brothel and selling her into another. Only a perverted mind could think of this proposal and it shows the Rayalseema lobby’s utter callousness and disregard to the sentiments of 3.5 crore Telangana people. Is it for this continuation of the exploitation that over 250 Telangana youth commit suicide in the last four months, is it for this merger with the Seema bandicoots that 370 students laid down their lives in 1969, is it for this handing over of Telangana from one rapist to the next that our people have continued their struggle for the last 50 years. From being a land of honey and milk for a thousand years, right from the glorious period of the Kakatiyas to the Asaf Jahi’s, we have within five decades of being forcibly confined to Andhra Pradesh been systematically degraded to a life of penury. Our youth have no avenues to advancement and fall prey to extremist ideology, our farmers who till half a century back ploughed fields of gold today commit suicide in their barren lands.

Just as a murderer sees visions of his victims, so do these Rayalseema people believe that we will do to them as they have done to us. My advice to Diwakar Reddy and his fellow clowns is, do not delude yourself into thinking that we will entertain any proposal for a Telangana+Rayalseema state. We will sooner lay down our lives than live with you. Maybe, Diwakar Reddy and his fellow Rayalseema goons are scared that we may pay them back in their own currency. Rest Assured Diwakar Reddy, we the people of Telangana are just and humane and will work with the center and our neighbors to work out an equitable distribution of river waters.

We only request you to leave our land and let us live in peace and prosperity. We have five decades of backwardness to surmount, all our energies will be employed in rebuilding our state and will leave no time for us to persecute you and your ilk. You have to decide now either to part as friends and good neighbors or be thrown out tomorrow as usurpers. Whether you decide to live with Andhra or go your separate way is of no concern to us, just leave Telangana.

The Tentacles of the Seemandhra Moneybags Run Deep and Wide

The root cause of the Seemandhra opposition to the free state of Telangana is the fear of their illicit agreements with the AP Government coming to light. The principal opponents to the Telangana state are the business houses, which proliferated during the reign of Naidu and YSR, these businesses are easy to identify, they came in from nowhere, were promoted by the landlords from the Andhra and Rayalseema region, and the main area of operations for these businesses was Government contracts whether it be mining, construction, power, etc.

The Seemandhra movement for a unified Andhra state has died down and they are back in business, having received assurance from the Center and the State administration on the continuance of status quo, after paying the blood money of 10,000 crores to the Congress Party fund. The latest addition to the Government sanctioned plunder of the states resources is the clearance given to the 445-MW capacity Konaseema private power project to start power generation at a rate of Rs 2.80 a unit. The initial price at which the project was commissioned was Rs. 1.75 per unit, the Government’s revised offer now is a whopping 60% above the original price. And what of the antecedents of the owners of Konaseema Power Project, it is promoted by VBC (Visakhapatnam Bottling Company), a business house that has been in and out of BIFR until 2001, when it suddenly became a profit making company. Surprisingly, the fortunes of this company tail in with the Naidu and YSR regimes.

Not only this, a look at the power purchase agreements the State Government has entered into with Private Power Companies in the last decade, will throw more light on how these businesses got entrenched into the system. The Government entered into a MOU with GVK in 1996 for purchasing power at a rate of Rs.1.80, with Spectrum in 1997 at Rs.1.99, with LANCO in 1999 at Rs.2.57 and finally now with Konaseema at Rs.2.80. This has been commented upon by the Comptroller and Auditor General in almost all its audits, but was conveniently swept under the carpet. As against this, Reliance Power has contracted to build Tilaiya 4,000 MW Ultra Mega Power Project at a tariff of just Rs.1.77 per unit.!!! No wonder these business houses collectively paid silence money to the Central Leadership, to backtrack on its commitment to form a separate state.

This plunder of the state’s coffers and resources by the Seemandhra white collar bandits with the collusion of the State administration cannot go on forever. And the time will come when these buccaneers can no longer purchase the future of Telangana. The day is not far when the voice of 3.5 crore people will make itself heard above the jingle of silver and the rustle of notes. And that day Telangana will be a reality.

Naidu Unleashes Private Army on Telangana Lawyers

The underlying malevolence and hatred the Seemandhra leadership has towards the Telangana people was demonstrated the other day, when Chandrababu Naidu’s private army brutally attacked and injured members of the Telangana lawyers forum at Indira Park in Hyderabad.

The crime for which the lawyers were subjected to skull cracking blows from Naidu’s soldiers was asking him, to spell out his stand on the status of a separate Telangana state. It was these inflammatory words “Telangana state” that acted as the red flag for the violence that was unleashed on the lawyers.

The incident highlighted the benign patronage the anti Telangana forces enjoy in the State of AP, the police forces which were present on the spot were mute spectators to this mayhem and later swung into action by arresting the lawyers, the victims of this hate wave and let Naidu’s henchmen go free.

Not only this, protests by Telangana citizens against this incident across the region were disrupted by the police and the voice of the people silenced. In the last two days the state administration went on a spree arresting lawyers and those supporting them, the list of people arrested includes scores of advocates in Hyderabad, Nizamabad, Adilabad, not only this about 50 youths who were protesting the arrest of the advocates were taken into preventive custody.

While the police went all out to arrest all those speaking against Naidu’s private army the guilty were roaming the city free as birds, secure in the patronage they enjoy in the sate of AP and the knowledge that not a finger of law will dare to touch them. The same force that used rubber pellets, water canons, and lathi’s to control a students proposed march, watches silently as Naidu’s army cracks skulls and breaks bones. The same state administration which gives the excuse of buses being burnt and stoned, to deploy the elite greyhound force in Osmania University looks the other way when private armies are let loose on peaceful demonstrations.
And to add salt to the wounds of Telangana, no action has been taken till date save the arrest of a couple of minor minions of Naidu two days after the event. This incident has shown to the Nation that there is no justice for Telangana people in Andhra Pradesh, and it is in the interests of humanity and social justice that Telangana be formed.

If the Seemandhra people and the state administration believe, that they can scare us into silence on the demand for a separate state, then they are sadly mistaken. Instances like this will reinforce our determination to carve out our destiny and our state of Telangana.

Unabated Arrests of Telangana Activists

The Adilabad police yesterday arrested five pro-Telangana activists for staging a rasta roko near Asifabad bus stand in Adilabad. This is the first time agitators were arrested for blocking traffic while demonstrating against the Government anywhere in India. This shows the State administrations increasing frustration in its ability to control and subdue the people’s movement. The incident a precursor of things to come, the day is not far when Telangana agitators will be arrested for raising Jai Telangana slogans on the pretext of noise pollution.

The State Government has been given strict instructions by the center that is manipulated by the Seemandhra moneybags to curb and derail the movement for a separate state of Telangana. And in keeping with their part of the bargain state administration and the police are using every small pretext to unleash violence as witnessed many times in Osmania and Kakatiya University and innumerable other incidents across the region. But, this arrest of people for blockading traffic is a new low.

This arrest on such frivolous grounds is not to be taken as being ridiculous, there is a deep conspiracy behind it. The state administration plans to use such frivolous excuses to arrest and imprison our youth and force them to react in anger and violence. The Center’s game plan is obvious besmirch the demand for a separate state, as being stage managed by the naxals and Maoists and it will give the Center a valid reason to deny the people of Telangana, the right of self determination. This bogey was first raised by P Chidambaram in the all party meeting, post the Seemandhra’s donation of 10,000 crore rupees to the Congress party fund and was slowly fed by the State administration. However the Supreme Court called the Government’s bluff when it was unable to show any concrete proof of naxal and maoist influence.

Now the State Administration has changed tactics and is working towards making it impossible for us to raise our voice for a separate state by closing all avenues of democratic forms of protest. It plans on forcing us to resort to violence and justify its claims of extremist involvement in our movement. We need to guard our selves from falling into the Center’s trap and carry on our protest in peace and following all democratic principles. We need to be alert and guard ourselves from falling into the Government’s well laid trap of resorting to violence.

The journey to statehood may be difficult but ultimate victory is ours.
